India currently has over 73,000 startups with at least one-woman director, recognised under the ‘Startup India Initiative’.
A Surge in Indian Startups: The number of recognised startups by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in the country has increased to 1,57,066, the central government told on Wednesday. As per Ministry of Commerce and Industry, currently there are more than 73,000 startups in the country with at least one-woman director, recognised under the ‘Startup India Initiative’. It is almost half of the 1,57,066 government-supported startups.
