Obnews Digital Desk. Keeping in mind the growing AI market in India, Nvidia has introduced Nemotron-4-Mini-Hindi-4B AI model supporting Hindi. IT company Tech Mahindra is using this model for the Indus 2.0 project.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted India's expertise in computer science and announced a partnership with Reliance to build AI infrastructure in India. Nvidia on Thursday, October 24, launched a lightweight artificial intelligence (AI) model with Hindi language support as it tries to take advantage of the growing market for AI technologies. This model is called Nemotron-4-Mini-Hindi-4B and can be easily deployed on any NVIDIA GPU-accelerated system for optimized performance. IT services and consulting company Tech Mahindra Nemotron Hindi is the first company to use NIM microservices – on which the model is available – to develop an AI model called Indus 2.0, which focuses on Hindi and its dozens of dialects.
The company said, “The Nemotron Hindi model has 4 billion parameters and is derived from Nemotron-4 15B, a 15 billion parameter multilingual language model developed by NVIDIA. The models were sorted, distilled and trained using NVIDIA NeMo with a combination of real-world Hindi data, synthetic Hindi data and equal amount of English data to develop generative AI in an end-to-end, cloud- is a suite of native frameworks and microservices.”

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also talked about how India is an important player in the AI era. “As you know, India's IT industry is world renowned for its sheer scale, and not just in size, but also in its deep expertise in computer science. “Very few countries in the world have this amazing natural resource called IT and computer science expertise.”

“Over the last few years, we have been working together to enhance skills and we have Now around 200,000 IT professionals have been skilled in the world of AI. What do we have to do together? And how can we work together to help India transform at the speed of light, really? Because everything is moving very fast to make India not only the hub of IT, but also the hub of AI,” he said. Huang also announced that Reliance and Nvidia are partnering to build AI infrastructure in India.
