Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo has made a decent collection at the Indian box office in the first week. The movie has surpassed the Rs 50 crore net mark in seven days.

O Romeo had created a lot of hype and curiosity through its promos before its release. The makers also promoted it well on various platforms. But its pre-release hype did not generate a good amount of advance booking for its opening weekend. This raised concerns among the trade circle about its opening.

O Romeo started on a slow note in its matinee shows but showed a decent jump in afternoon and evening shows. A strong word of mouth helped it show over 60 percent growth on Saturday. The film remained strong on Sunday, but its collection was affected by the cricket match between India vs Pakistan.

As usual, the Shahid Kapoor starrer witnessed a steep decline on Monday and remained rock-steady on Tuesday. However, its collection went down by over 40 percent on Wednesday and Thursday when compared to Monday. O Romeo has collected Rs 51.52 crore net at the Indian box office in the first week.

Rohit Jaiswal tweeted, “O ROMEO – STRONG FIRST WEEK Sajid Nadiadwala’s O’Romeo Clocks ₹52.51 Cr Nett India O’Romeo wraps Week 1 on a solid note, collecting ₹52.51 Cr Nett India. After a strong opening weekend, the film displayed a steady weekday hold, indicating stable footfalls and positive audience traction.”

O Romeo has been made with a whopping budget of 75-80 crores. The makers have already recovered a substantial sum through OTT and satellite. The movie has now collected Rs 75 crore at the worldwide box office in the first week. The film has already recovered the remaining investments. It should start adding on to its profits from the second week.
