O’Romeo Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor’s new film o’romeo (O’Romeo) is released in theaters on 13 February 2026. This film came on Valentine’s weekend, so everyone expected that this story full of romance and action would earn well. But looking at the first day’s box office collection, it seems that the start has been a bit slow. According to trade analyst site Sacnilk, the film earned a net worth of Rs 4.81 crore in India till 7 pm on the first day.
The occupancy (filling of seats) in a total of 4,747 shows was only 10.40% i.e. the crowd was less in the morning and afternoon shows, but there was a slight increase in the evening shows. Trade experts estimate that the full day’s collection could be around Rs 7-8 crore. The budget of the film is said to be huge, Rs 125 crore. For a film with such a big budget to do well, it needed an opening of at least Rs 10-12 crore or more on the first day. Right now it seems that it will take a lot of time to recover the costs and reach break-even. But if word of mouth is good on Valentine’s Day weekend, the collection may increase.

This is the fourth film of Shahid and director Vishal Bhardwaj. Two of the first three were quite successful:
- Kaminey (2009) – Budget 33 crores, opening of 4.21 crores on the first day, total earned 70.40 crores in India. It was a hit and the critics also liked it.
- Haider (2014) – Budget 45 crores, opening 6.02 crores on first day, earned 79.20 crores worldwide. This was also a big success
- Rangoon (2017) – This was his only flop film. Only 5 crore openings on the first day, total earning of 39.80 crores whereas the budget was 60 crores.
- Now if O’Romeo does not do well then the hit-flop ratio of Shahid-Vishal pair will become equal. Vishal Bhardwaj has not given any big hit after Haider, so the performance of this film is very important for him too.

If we look at some of Shahid’s previous films, we have got mixed results:
- Deva (2025) – 5.5 crores on first day
- Teri Baton Mein Aisa Tangled Jiya (2024) – 6.7 crores on first day, total worldwide 128.50 crores
- Kabir Singh (2019)- Shahid’s biggest opening film till date. 20.21 crores on the first day, 70 crores in the first weekend, 377 crores worldwide, it was a blockbuster.
- Padmavat (2018)- Shahid’s highest grossing film. 19 crores on first day, total worldwide 588 crores.
- But after Kabir Singh, there has been only one clear hit in the last 7 years. Films like ‘Jersey’ did not live up to expectations.

After the first day first show, positive reviews have come on social media. Many people have described Shahid Kapoor’s performance as his best till date, it is intense, emotional and amazing in action. Trupti Dimri is also getting a lot of praise, I like the combination of her aggressiveness and innocence. I am liking the romance and stylish scenes in the first half, while there is action and drama in the second half. Shahid’s wife Mira Rajput has also showered love by posting, and people like director Homi Adajania have also given good reviews. A good start is expected at the box office today.
