Mumbai: Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gaurav starrer **Tu Ya Main** released in theaters last Friday. The film received a good response from audiences and critics, but its performance at the box office was not satisfactory. After a sluggish start in the initial days, the film picked up some momentum on Saturday, but this momentum did not last long.
box office performance of tu ya main
According to trade reports, the film directed by **Bejoy Nambiar** earned around Rs 27 lakh on the sixth day on Wednesday. With this, the total earning of the film has reached around Rs 3.97 crore.
According to media sources, the budget of **Tu Ya Main** is approximately Rs 20 crores. In such a situation, the earning of Rs 3.97 crore in the first six days has become a matter of concern for the film. If the film has to recover its costs, its performance will have to increase next weekend. Trade experts estimate that by the end of the first week its earnings may reach around Rs 4.15 to 4.20 crore. Nevertheless, this figure is quite low compared to the film’s budget.
The film has received good reviews from critics, with many reviews describing it as an interesting survival thriller. Acting and music are being praised, especially the performances of Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gaurav. Despite this, the number of footfalls in theaters seems to be limited, and despite good word of mouth, crowds are not gathering at the ticket windows. This is the reason why the film’s earnings have been below expectations.
o competition with romeo
**Tu Ya Main** is also facing competition from **O Romeo** at the box office. Both the films are not able to perform particularly well, due to which the audience’s attention is divided. If **Tu Ya Main** had got a single release, it might have had better earnings. Many trade experts believe that even though the content of the film is good, its release time has become a challenge for it.
Now all eyes are on the next weekend. If the film does not see a surge on Saturday and Sunday, it may face losses at the box office. Despite being a small budget film, it will not be easy to find the cost of Rs 20 crores. It is clear in the film industry that good reviews alone do not guarantee success; A strong opening and correct release strategy are equally important. The same deficiency is being seen in the case of **tu or me**.
