ODI ICC Rankings: India’s dominance in ICC rankings; Prince Gill left behind King Kohli, know what is the rank of Rohit Sharma?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently released the rankings of ODI batsmen. Once again the dominance of the players of Team India has been seen. Especially Captain Shubhman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal have left their mark in this ranking.
Shubman Gill’s jump to top position
Team India’s Captain Shubhman Gill has now reached the top position. With 791 rating points he has secured the second position. At present, Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand remains at the top position with 816 points.
Before the ODI series against Afghanistan, Gill was ranked fifth. However, before this series, he had scored 84 runs in the first match, while in the second match he had played a stormy innings of 154 runs. He got a big benefit from this performance and he directly reached second place.
Shock to Virat Kohli
On the other hand, Virat Kohli could not play in the ODI series against Afghanistan due to injury. This has affected his ranking. Virat has lost one place and is now in third place with 768 points.
Dominance of Indian batsmen in ODI rankings
If we look at the top ranking of ODI batsmen, the dominance of Team India players is clearly visible. Rohit Sharma also remains at fourth position along with Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. There has been no change in Rohit’s position. Before the Afghanistan series, Rohit was at fourth position in the rankings.
In the series against Afghanistan, Rohit played innings of 16, 48 and 76 runs. Due to his consistent good performance, he was successful in maintaining his place in the list of top batsmen. Whereas, KL Rahul has lost two places. Because of this he had to be out of the top-10.
Big jump of Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal
Ishan Kishan played an aggressive inning of 125 runs in 78 balls against Afghanistan. He has benefited a lot from this brilliant century. In the latest ICC rankings, he has jumped 21 places to reach 43rd position. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also benefited from his century. In the last match of the series he scored an unbeaten 110 runs. Because of this innings, he has reached 71st position.
India-England ODI series will start from July 14
The three-match ODI series between India and England will start from July 14. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team for this series. Although Virat Kohli has returned to the team, his final participation will depend on his fitness. Apart from this, another big news for the Indian team is that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will return to ODI cricket after three years. He will be seen playing in this format for the first time after the 2023 World Cup final.
Team India for the ODI series against England: Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar have been included in the team.
