Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi to Embark on Three-Day Gujarat Visit to Attract Investments

In a continued push to attract fresh investments, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi will undertake a three-day official visit to Gujarat from May 5 to 7, 2026.

The visit follows successful roadshows in Hyderabad and Kolkata and aims to showcase investment opportunities in the state to industrialists and investors in western India.

During the visit, the Chief Minister will engage with leading industrialists in Ahmedabad, Mundra, and Vadodara (Baroda). The programme includes a major investors’ meet, roundtable discussions, and one-on-one meetings with prominent entrepreneurs.

On May 5 in Ahmedabad, a large-scale investment roadshow will be organised, accompanied by roundtable meetings and bilateral sessions with top industrialists. The day is expected to witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and the exchange of Letters of Intent for investments in Odisha.

The delegation will lay special emphasis on high-potential sectors including textiles and apparel, chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. The outreach is designed to draw capital from western India and create new opportunities in Odisha’s rapidly growing industrial landscape.

On May 6, the team will visit Mundra Port, one of India’s largest commercial ports, to study best practices in port-led development, logistics, and port-based industries. This visit is expected to strengthen Odisha’s strategy for developing its own ports and related industrial ecosystems.

On May 7, the Chief Minister will hold investor meetings in Vadodara, followed by a visit to Kevadia. The itinerary is expected to further consolidate industrial partnerships.

The high-level delegation will include Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister for Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, along with senior government officials.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated that Odisha, with its robust infrastructure and skilled workforce, has emerged as a preferred investment destination. “This Gujarat visit will open new opportunities for the people of the state, generate large-scale employment, and serve as a significant milestone towards achieving the vision of a Prosperous Odisha by 2036,” he said.

The outreach is being viewed as a crucial step in the state government’s ongoing campaign to attract quality investments and create widespread employment opportunities across Odisha.
