Odisha govt officials mandatorily need to take 21-day prior permission for travelling outside state or abroad
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has now made 21-day prior permission mandatory for the officials travelling outside state or abroad, informed the Finance Department in a notification.
Sagarika Hota, the Additional Secretary to Government-cum-Establishment Officer, has written a letter in this regard to the Chairman of Odisha Sales Tax Tribunal, Kataka, the Commissioner, CT & GST, Odisha, Kataka, the Director, MDRAFM, Bhubaneswar, the Controller of Accounts, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, the Director of Local Fund Audit, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, the Director of Treasuries & Inspection, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and the Joint Secretary to Govt (Savings & FS Branch), Finance Department.
“…I am directed to say that in case of travelling to outside Odisha/ out of India purely on personal ground, the leave (other than casual leave) of a Government servant must be sanctioned by the Competent Authority before travelling and necessary prior permission for leaving Headquarters from the authority must be obtained,” read the notification.
“However, it has come to notice that in case of travelling to outside Odisha/ out of India on personal ground, Officers/Officials working in different Directorates and sub-ordinate offices functioning under the Administrative control of Finance Department are either proceeding without prior sanction of leave and/or permission for leaving Headquarters or applying/intimating regarding such leave and/or Headquarters leaving permission within short period of time in which it is difficult to sanction the leave and/or accord permission to leave Headquarters,” it added.
It is therefore requested to direct all the Officers/ Officials working in your Directorate and sub-ordinate offices, to apply for leave before the Competent Authority and/or obtain prior permission for leaving Headquarters in case of travelling to outside Odisha/ out of India on personal ground at least 21 days in advance, except in case of emergencies, Hota mentioned.
Leave should be sanctioned and/or permission for leaving Headquarters should be granted to the employee travelling to outside Odisha/ out of India on personal ground before he/she proceeds on leave, she informed.
