Odisha’s Ex-India Players Debashis Mohanty & Sanjay Raul Appointed Cricket Consultants of OCA
Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has appointed former India players from the state Debashis Mohanty and Sanjay Raul Cricket Consultants.
Mohanty played 2 Tests and 45 ODIs between 1997 and 2001, while Raul featured in 2 ODIs in 1998.
Their inclusion will help develop and strengthen the cricketing ecosystem in the state, OCA said in a release.
The OCA also revealed names of coaches and support staff for the upcoming BCCI domestic season 2026-27, based on the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
The CAC has already appointed Pravanjan Mullick as Head Coach of the senior men’s team of Odisha and Santanu Ghosh as the Technical Director of Odisha Cricket Academy.
The CAC reviewed applications received after employment advertisement was published on the OCA website. After a thorough interview and evaluation process on April 4 and 5, the following appointments have been made:
Senior Men’s Selection Committee — Kulamani Parida (Chairman), Abakas Khatua, Natraj Behera and Subhrajit Sahoo
Junior Men’s Selection Committee — Sourajit Mohapatra (Chairman), Bishnudev Mohanty, Niranjan Behera and Jagannath Das
Women’s Selection Committee — Rashmita Mohanty (Chairperson), Sasmita Pattanaik, Subhranshubala Bhuyan, Gangotri Behera, Suvalaxmi Rout.
Men’s Coaches – Asjit Jayprakashan, Basant Mohanty, Devadatta Lenka, Subit Biswal, Sourav Sehgal, Rashmi Ranjan Das, Rakesh Mohanty, Preetamjit Das, Suresh Kumar, Bibhudatta Panda, Deepak Mangaraj, K.V. Prasad, Pravat Nayak, Suryakant Pradhan, Manas Ray, Girija Rout, Prashant Sahoo, Suvendu Samal.
Women’s Coaches – Madhusmita Behera, Kadambini Mahakud, Swagatika Rath, Tikilata Pradhan, Itishree Pattnaik, Rasanara Parwin.
Curators of OCA – Anjan Kumar Khuntia and Pankaj Pattnaik.
The appointed coaches will be engaged at the Odisha Cricket Academy for various preparatory camps and subsequently deputed to different state teams participating in BCCI-organised tournaments, as per their specialisation and performance.
