Engine and expected features

According to media reports, the upcoming Renault Bridger is expected to have the same engine as the company’s popular SUV, Renault Kiger. Kiger has a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces around 100 bhp. This engine is available with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Some reports also claim that Renault can offer this SUV in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) options. If this happens, it can directly challenge off-road SUVs like Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar 3-Door.

Design and production will be done in India only

The special thing about this SUV is that Renault Bridger will be designed and developed in India only. According to media reports, it can be made in Renault’s Chennai manufacturing unit. It is expected that this SUV will be launched in the Indian market by 2027. Talking about the price, the entry-level model can cost around ₹ 10 lakh, making it a good option for the middle class and SUV enthusiasts.
