Ola-Uber apps charge more for booking cabs from iPhone, know how much truth is there in this

New Delhi: Recently, it was being claimed on social media that the difference in prices of products on cab booking and e-commerce platforms is shown in iPhone and Android smartphones. It was being said that iPhone users have to pay more than Android. Recently a report has come out in which it was seen that there is truth in this?

According to the report, a test was conducted in which a cab was booked from the same time and location on both iPhone and Android. The fare was the same on both the devices. If one notices a difference in prices, there could be many other reasons behind it. According to cab service companies like Uber, the fare depends on many factors. These include pickup and drop locations, traffic, travel time, and estimated distance. The company says that it does not change the fare after seeing the company of any rider's phone.

The test also examined prices on e-commerce platforms. When searching for Redmi smartphones, prices were similar on both iPhone and Android, even though the locations were different. There was no difference in the prices of groceries and other products.

If there is ever a difference in prices, there could be a few reasons behind it. 1. Premium Membership: If you chose fast delivery or additional services, you may see higher prices. 2. Cab Booking Tip: If you have selected advance tip for the driver, the fare will be higher. 3. Account Balance: Sometimes if your balance is in minus, the final bill may be higher. Uber has clarified on its website that fares are based on factors such as trip distance, time, traffic and demand patterns. There is no change in fare depending on the smartphone brand.
