Less number of women drivers
Industry experts say the rule, while good, will be difficult to enforce. Currently, the share of women cab drivers in the country is less than 5%. What will change in the tip system?
The government has also clarified the rules for tipping. Passengers can now voluntarily tip drivers only after the journey is complete. The driver will receive the full amount of the tip, without any deductions. Companies will also be prohibited from pressuring passengers or using fraudulent tactics for tips. Overall, the new rules aim to increase passenger safety and make driver earnings more transparent. This will provide a safer option for women passengers.
