Oman Khareef Dhofar 2026: Big news for those going to Salala, CAA completes preparations, new update on flights and fares

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has made all its preparations for Kharif Dhofar 2026 to be held in Salala, Oman. In view of the huge crowd of tourists, the number of international flights will be increased so that people do not face any problem in commuting. The season will begin from June 21 and run through September 21, with peak crowds expected from mid-July to mid-August.

Changes in flights and ticket fares

CAA has decided to improve air services in collaboration with Oman Airports, Oman Air and SalamAir. The number of flights between Muscat and Salalah has been increased. Also, to ensure that ticket prices do not increase too much during the season, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has prepared a new fare structure.

SalamAir has also fixed separate fares for its one-way and return flights. Apart from this, Etihad Airways has also started its seasonal flights which has increased the options for tourists.

New rules for hotels and rented houses

Dhofar Municipality and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism have made it mandatory that all tourism hotel and rental accommodation operators register themselves on the digital booking platform. For this, apps like Sikka, Masarah or Valo will have to be used. This rule has been made so that tourists are not cheated and the quality of service is maintained.

Roads and other facilities

424 kilometers of new road projects are being completed in Dhofar Governorate to ease travel. Al Mughsail Road and Bridge Project will be opened by the beginning of Kharif season so that there is no problem of traffic jam.

There is also an update for drone operators. CAA has started granting permits for drone operations and air sports from May 25, 2026. Those who want to fly drones can apply for a designated green zone through the Serb platform.

Dhofar Governorate spokesman Ahmed bin Suhail Al Mashani said that full preparations have been made with government departments. Complete information about the programs and events to be held during the Kharif season will be given in a media briefing at the end of June.
