New Delhi, March 23. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid tribute to the great revolutionary Amar Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on ‘Martyr’s Day’. In this he said, “Even after so many years, the story of the sacrifice of immortal martyr Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev is on the lips of every child of the country. The stories of these heroes inspire all of us to work hard day and night for the country.”

PM Modi said, “It is also said in Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta that ‘Nainam Chhindanti Shastraani, Nainam Dahati Pavakah’. That is, neither a weapon can cut, nor a fire can burn, such are those who sacrifice for the country. They receive nectar. They become flowers of inspiration and keep spreading their fragrance from generation to generation. Today, the country is saluting the heroes and heroines who have contributed for the freedom.” Every year March 23 is celebrated as ‘Martyrs’ Day’ to remember the sacrifice of three extraordinary revolutionaries of India. On March 23, three heroes of the country were hanged on behalf of the British.
