Sun Neo artistes Suraj Pratap Singh, Akash Khandelwal and Akash Jagga share their sentiments on Republic Day, which is all about innocence, dreams and values.
Sooraj Pratap Singh is playing the role of Prem in the show ‘Divya Prem: Love Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani’. He says, “In childhood, Republic Day meant waking up early in the morning, wearing white clothes and holding a small tricolor flag in my hand. I still remember that we used to watch the parade on TV with the whole family and when our soldiers marched with full enthusiasm, my heart was filled with pride. At that time, perhaps the whole meaning of the day was not understood, but the feeling of being an Indian was very special. It was deep. Listening to patriotic songs, clapping during the parade and a relaxed happiness at home, those simple and innocent moments still remain in my heart, which make Republic Day special for me.”
Akash Khandelwal, playing the role of Shaurya in the show ‘Satya Sachi’, says, “Republic Day is not just a day of celebration, it is also a day of responsibility. Being an actor, people look at our words and our work. This day reminds me that we can respect our country only by being honest in our work and adopting goodness in our behaviour. True patriotism is not just loving the country, but doing the right thing as a good citizen every day. Respecting the Constitution, our values and the people around us is what really matters, spreading positive thinking, standing for what is right and staying connected to our roots, this is the real meaning of Republic Day for me.”
Akash Jagga, playing the role of Kundan in the show Bindani, says, “Today, Republic Day for me symbolizes the freedom to dream. As an actor, I came to this city with big dreams and many struggles. This day reminds us that our Constitution gives us the right to fulfill our dreams and create our own identity. Whenever I stand in front of the camera, I feel proud that I am a part of a country where It also teaches that if there is hard work and honesty, no dream is small, but this freedom gives strength to move forward. This is what makes Republic Day special for me.”
