On the anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’, PM Modi changed his profile picture on X, paid tribute to the bravery of the Indian Army
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed his profile picture on social media platform X on Thursday on the occasion of the anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’. PM Modi took this step to pay tribute to the indomitable courage and bravery shown by the Indian Armed Forces during this military operation. ‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack last year, in which India targeted terrorist hideouts across the border.

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that took the lives of 26 innocent people, India had decided to take a tough military action against terrorism. Under ‘Operation Sindoor’ launched on May 7, 2025, the Indian Army had completely destroyed nine major terrorist launch pads located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). More than 100 terrorists of organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in this action.
Four days of struggle and India’s dominance
Following the Indian strike, Pakistan tried to respond with drone strikes and shelling, leading to a four-day standoff between the two countries. Indian Army demonstrated its defensive and offensive capability and destroyed Pakistani radar installations near Lahore and Gujranwala. After suffering heavy losses, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted the Indian counterpart, resulting in a ceasefire agreed upon on 10 May.
Defense Minister called it ‘a symbol of national resolve’

The Defense Minister also emphasized in his message that this operation is a proof of India’s steps towards ‘self-reliance’. This has not only enhanced the defense capabilities of the country but also underlined India’s strength against any external threat. Changing the picture on social media by PM Modi is a part of this glorious military history and respect for the army.
