Collector and District Magistrate Badri Nath Singh has issued an order to maintain law and order and public peace in the district on the occasion of Holi festival. Using the powers granted under Section 59 of the United Province Excise Act 1910, instructions have been given to keep all the country liquor, composite shops, model shops, retail and wholesale licenses of cannabis and toddy in the district closed till 4.00 pm on March 04, 2026.

According to the order issued, no compensation will be payable to the licensees for the closure day. The administration has clarified that strict compliance with the order should be ensured, so that the Holi festival can be conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
