On the pretext of SIR, BLO called girlfriend’s husband, cut him into pieces and threw him in the canal

A BLO and his associate have been accused of allegedly murdering a person in West Bengal. Police have arrested both the accused. In the preliminary investigation, the police say that the accused officer had a relationship with the wife of the person who was murdered.

 

According to the police, on Saturday, accused Rizwan Hasan Mandal and his associate Sagar Gaine murdered 30-year-old Nasir Ali. It is alleged that after the murder, the body was cut into several pieces and thrown in the canal. This incident spread anger in the area and people blocked the road and demanded justice. However, the police pacified the people.

How was the murder committed?

According to the police, accused Rizwan Hasan Mandal first called his girlfriend’s husband Nasir Ali. He took him to a deserted place on the pretext of work related to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. There both the accused together murdered Nasir Ali. After the murder, Rizwan along with his associate Sagar Gyne cut the body into pieces and threw it in the canal.

What came to light in the police investigation?

Nasir Ali’s family had earlier filed his missing complaint. After this the police started investigation and tracked the location of Nasir’s mobile phone. Investigation revealed that Nasir’s last conversation was with the BLO.

After this the police kept an eye on the call records and activities of Rizwan Mandal. On Friday, police recovered some body parts of Nasir Ali from the canal. During interrogation it was revealed that Rizwan committed the murder, while Sagar Gyane helped him in disposing of the body. A police officer told PTI that ‘initial investigation has revealed that Rizwan Mandal had an extramarital affair with the wife of the deceased.
