Prayagraj. On the occasion of World Environment Day, regional journalist Saras Singh and advocate Shailesh Kumar Pandey planted trees giving the message of environmental protection and appealed to the people to plant as many trees as possible. During this, both of them said that environmental protection should not be limited to just one day, but it is necessary to give it the form of a mass movement.
During the plantation program, journalist Saras Singh said that in the present times, increasing pollution, climate change and decreasing forest areas are becoming serious challenges for human life. In such a situation, it is the duty of every citizen to ensure his active participation in environmental protection. He said that a tree not only provides oxygen but also plays an important role in water conservation, biodiversity and maintaining natural balance.
Advocate Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that protection of the environment is the collective responsibility of all of us. He appealed to the people to maintain cleanliness around them, reduce the use of plastic and take care of them by planting as many trees as possible. He said that concrete steps will have to be taken from today itself to provide a safe and healthy environment to the coming generations. Tree plantation is not just a formality but a symbol of our responsibility towards nature.
Saras Singh especially appealed to the youth to plant saplings on their birthdays, marriage anniversaries or other special occasions and also take regular care of the planted saplings. He said that if every person plants at least one sapling every year and protects it till it grows into a tree, then it is possible to solve many environmental problems.
On this occasion, the people present also took oath to protect the environment and expressed their resolve to make the area green. At the end of the program, a message was given to everyone to be aware of the environment and to actively cooperate in creating a clean, safe and green environment.
