Reinforcing its 'One Car, One World' philosophy, Nissan Motor India has commenced exports of its recently launched SUV, the new Nissan Magnite to South Africa. During the launch of the new Nissan Magnite in October this year, the company had announced the start of manufacturing for the international market from Nissan's Alliance JV plant in Chennai and South Africa has become the first country where the new Nissan Magnite has been exported.
More than 2700 new Nissan Magnite SUVs have been exported from Chennai port within a month of its international launch in India. Nissan Magnite is a great example of Nissan's 'Make in India, Make for the World' vision. Over 1,50,000 units of Nissan Magnite have been sold since its launch in December 2020 and it has made a deep impact in the Indian and international markets.
The new Nissan Magnite was launched in New Delhi in October, 2024, reflecting Nissan's commitment to new strategies for domestic and export markets under its 'The Arc' plan. The launch of the new Nissan Magnite B-SUV is a significant step towards strengthening India's position as an export hub for Nissan. Given the continued demand and popularity of the 'Made in India' Magnite in the international market, Nissan is ready to expand its export market to more than 65 international markets, including left-hand driving countries.
Frank Torres, President, Nissan India Operations and Divisional Vice President, AMIEO Region Business Transformation, said, “Since the launch of the Nissan Magnite in 2020, we have seen tremendous acceptance of the Made in India compact SUV from customers in the South African market. Demand has also been seen. Our focus is on both domestic and export markets, both of which are critical to our strategy to deliver results in line with 'The Arc' plan, and India remains a part of the company's growth strategy. The export of the new Nissan Magnite will further strengthen India's position as an export hub and accelerate Nissan's growth in the AMIEO region. This will help in taking forward Nissan India's philosophy of 'One Car, One World'.
