Kullu, 02 November (HS). Police have arrested a local man on charges of hashish smuggling in Manikarna Valley under Kullu police station. The matter came to light this morning when the police searched a suspicious person while patrolling in Chharodnala area. During the search, 784 grams of hashish was recovered from the person’s possession.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Karthikeyan said that the accused has been identified as Puran Chand (28), son of Gyan Chand, resident of Pauhal, Post Office Jari, District Kullu. A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs Act and the police is engaged in further investigation.
