OpenAI launches ChatGPT on WhatsApp and calls, know how to use it

Obnews Tech Desk: OpenAI has expanded its AI chatbot ChatGPT to now be available on WhatsApp and calls. Earlier, to use it, users had to download the app or resort to the web version. But now you can use ChatGPT by dialing a simple number or sending a message on WhatsApp.

ChatGPT on WhatsApp and calls: How to get access?

OpenAI said that users in the US will be given free voice call access to ChatGPT for 15 minutes every month. This service is currently launched as an experiment, so its availability and limits may change from time to time.

Access to ChatGPT on WhatsApp will be available in all regions where ChatGPT services are already active. According to the company, “This new feature has been launched especially keeping in mind those people who have not been able to use AI yet.”

The Verge report and company statement

According to The Verge report, Kevin Well, Chief Product Officer of OpenAI, said that this feature has been developed in only a few weeks. OpenAI's real-time API is used for ChatGPT over the phone line. Whereas GPT 4o Mini has been added to WhatsApp through API.

However, for advanced features, higher usage limits and personalized experience, users will have to use a traditional ChatGPT account.

How to use ChatGPT on WhatsApp and calls?

Users in the US can access the service by calling 1-800-ChatGPT (1-800-242-8478). This chatbot can be accessed from landline also. To use on WhatsApp, send a message to this number and avail the services of ChatGPT.
