Opening petrol pump in UP has become easy, now NOC will have to be taken from only 4 departments

Lucknow. The process of opening petrol and diesel pumps in UP has been greatly simplified. Now, to open these pumps, there will be no need to obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) from four departments including Pollution Control Board and Forest Department. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken this decision to promote ease of doing business. The Food and Logistics Department has issued an official order in this regard.

In the earlier system, to get the license of a petrol pump, the District Magistrate (DM) had to collect NOC from 10 departments. These included revenue, NSAI, PWD, development authority or municipal body, district panchayat, pollution control board, police, forest, electrical safety and electricity departments. This process took months. Due to this the applicants were facing unnecessary delay and hassle.

Now NOC will have to be taken from only 4 departments

Now the government has decided to make this process streamlined and faster. Under the new rules, to establish a petrol pump, NOC will have to be obtained mainly from only four departments, Revenue, Electricity, Public Works Department (PWD) and Development Authority/Housing Development Council/Industrial Development Authority. For other departments, it will be sufficient for the applicant to submit only a self-declaration form.

In the Self Declaration Form the applicant himself will declare that he will follow all the rules and standards. Apart from this, emphasis has been laid on making this process digital. Now the NOC issued by the District Magistrate will be digitally signed. Applicants will be able to download it directly from their user login.

Now it will take less time to open a petrol pump

Let us tell you that from now onwards the facility to track the status of applications for opening petrol and diesel pumps online will also be available. This step will not only bring relief to businessmen but will also encourage new investment in the state. Experts believe that this will significantly reduce the time taken to open petrol pumps.
