China does not like its closeness with US, OP is taking credit for mediation in Sindoor to hold the neck of PAK, experts said

On one hand, Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan is in discussion about India-China conflict in Galwan Valley, on the other hand. operation vermilion China’s statement regarding K has revealed a new diplomatic turn. Nearly 7 months after this mini war between India and Pakistan, China has claimed to present itself as a ‘mediator’ in the India-Pakistan conflict. In exactly the same manner as former US President Donald Trump has been doing on this issue. Although India has already made it clear that it does not accept the mediation of any third party, but experts believe that this statement of China is more a strategy to send a message to Pakistan than to India.

China can do anything to serve its interests – Dr. Brahmadeep Alune

Foreign affairs expert Dr. Brahmdeep Alune says that it would be appropriate to see this statement of the Chinese Foreign Minister in the context of better relations between America and Pakistan. By giving such a statement, China has tried to put pressure on Pakistan. So that America cannot pursue its projects in the field of rare earth in Balochistan.

Therefore it is important for China to do this. If America expands its presence in Pakistan commercially and militarily, it will have a direct impact on China. China is building Gwadar port in Balochistan, Pakistan. He has invested several billion dollars there. He cannot see his loss.

Therefore, China would not want Pakistan to get close to America. Again, China’s strategic interests will be badly affected by America’s strengthening in Pakistan. This is because what America could not do by putting pressure on India, it is now working on the strategy of taking Pakistan on its side.

Wrong policies are the nature of Pakistan

Dr. Alune says that Pakistan wants to worship both China and America on the lines of India. Like India has been doing in the last few years in the case of America and Russia. Under this strategy, Pakistan made a military pact with Saudi Arabia to strengthen its position after Operation Sindoor. Pakistan is doing this to serve its immediate interests.

Now, as the tension between Saudi Arabia and UAE has increased, will it field its army in favor of Saudi Arabia against UAE in the battlefield? Pakistan will never be able to do this. Because, a large number of people from Pakistan live in UAE also.

Realizing that all these are wrong policies of Pakistan, China is now trying to put pressure on Pakistan by talking about mediation between India and Pakistan. This step of China will prove to be a thorn in the neck of Pakistan. India had made its stand clear in this matter in May itself.

In fact, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi gave a shocking statement regarding Operation Sindoor. He has said that China had ‘mediated’ in the India-Pakistan tension in May. Whereas India has repeatedly refused the interference of third parties. The stand of the Indian Foreign Ministry on this issue is the same as before.

The greatest turmoil after the Second World War

The Chinese Foreign Minister made this statement on December 30 when he was addressing a seminar on the international situation and China’s foreign relations in Beijing. Wang said that there has been a rapid increase in conflicts and instability in the world. “This year, local wars and cross-border conflicts have flared up more frequently than at any time since the end of the Second World War. Geopolitical turmoil continues to spread,” he said.

Wang said China has adopted a ‘fair and correct stance’ in dealing with international conflicts. “To build lasting peace, we have adopted a fair and just approach, focusing on addressing both the symptoms and the root causes,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.

China intervened on these issues also

Wang further said, “Adhering to this Chinese way of solving hotspot issues, we mediated in Northern Myanmar, the Iranian nuclear issue, tensions between Pakistan and India, issues between Palestine and Israel, and the recent conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.”

Wang’s comments come months after the military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. India launched Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and later military installations were also included in it.

Wang said, “In 2025, we invited the leaders of India and the DPRK to China. China-India relations showed good momentum and the traditional friendship with the DPRK was strengthened and carried forward.” He said that the SCO summit was successful.

On the diplomatic front, China appealed for restraint on the first day of Operation Sindoor. Also expressed grief over India’s airstrike. A Chinese Foreign Ministry statement on May 7 said, “China finds India’s military operation this morning regretful.”

India rejected the role of third party

After the statement of the Chinese Foreign Minister came out, India has said this time also that the four-day conflict was resolved through direct military-to-military talks, without the interference of any external power. Even in the press briefing of 13 May 2025, the Ministry of External Affairs had rejected the claims of external mediation.

What is India’s stand?

The Ministry of External Affairs said, “A phone call was agreed upon between the DGMOs of the two countries starting at 15:35 on 10 May 2025.” New Delhi has repeatedly said that there is no scope for interference by any third party in the affairs of India and Pakistan. He has maintained this stance for decades.

Questions were raised on Beijing’s role

Questions have been raised about China’s role in the May conflict, especially its military assistance to Pakistan. China is the largest supplier of arms to Pakistan, supplying more than 81 percent of military equipment.

Indian military officials later accused China of using the conflict to advance its strategic goals. Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh said Beijing used the confrontation as a “live laboratory” and alleged that China provided large-scale support to Pakistan during the operation. China refused to respond directly to these comments.
