Operation Vishwas: Delhi Police’s ‘Operation Vishwas’, 320 mobiles worth Rs 50 lakh recovered, handed over to the owners

Delhi Police Operation Vishwas: Delhi Police has recovered 320 mobiles while running a big campaign against snatching and stolen mobiles. Delhi Police recovered 320 stolen/lost mobiles worth Rs 50 lakh under ‘Operation Vishwas’. These mobiles were recovered during raids in many states. After this these mobiles were handed over to their owner.

In a special program organized at the DCP office premises on Saturday, the police handed over all these phones to their rightful owners, after receiving which people’s faces lit up with joy. All these were captured under Mobile Clinical Surveillance and CEIR portal.

This special campaign was started from January 1, 2026 under the supervision of DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena of Shahdara district. The command of this entire operation was in the hands of the technical team of ASI Deepak Kumar, Head Constable Gagan Deep, Tejveer Singh and Manoj Kumar. The team successfully used the Government of India’s ‘CEIR Portal’ along with traditional IMEI search and CDR (Call Detail Record) analysis. DCP said that 75 mobiles were tracked with the help of CEIR portal alone. Apart from Delhi, raids were also conducted in states like UP and Haryana to recover the phones.

Formation of 13 special teams

To make the operation successful, 13 special teams from different police stations of the district were formed. The recovery from different police stations was as follows:

  • Police Station Shahdara: 88 Mobile
  • Police Station GTB Enclave: 68 Mobile
  • Police Station Seemapuri: 51 Mobile
  • Police Station Anand Vihar: 43 Mobile
  • Police station floor market: 21 mobiles
  • Police station Geeta Colony: 20 mobiles

Apart from this, teams from Vivek Vihar, Jagatpuri, Gandhi Nagar, Krishna Nagar and MS Park police stations also contributed significantly in this seizure operation.

What were the cases and how was the recovery graph?

Out of these 320 mobile phones recovered, most of them had fallen or were lost. According to the data:

  • 259 phones were lost.
  • 42 phones were stolen.
  • 13 were victims of phone snatching.
  • 5 phones were related to cases of theft in homes.
