The court is trying to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol over his declaration of martial law on December 3.

Democratic Party leader Park Chan-dae said in a statement, “It has become clear that Prime Minister and Acting President Han Duck-soo do not have the ability or will to defend the Constitution.” “

The proposal was introduced in Parliament on Thursday and is to be voted on within 24-72 hours. It cites several of Hahn's actions as grounds for his impeachment, including his veto of a special prosecutor bill to investigate alleged wrongdoing by the First Lady.
