Patanjali launches Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling, know what is Ayurvedic Oil Pulling and its benefits
Oral Health Tips: Patanjali Ayurved, a company led by Yoga Guru Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, has launched Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling in the market keeping in mind oral health care. According to the company, this product is based on the traditional ‘Gandush’ method of Ayurveda, in which teeth and gums are cleaned by swishing medicated oil in the mouth for a few minutes. It is being said that this method can be helpful in reducing oral bacteria, providing relief from bad odor and strengthening the gums. However, the company has also done scientific testing and research on this product.
Dental problems have increased
Health problems related to mouth are no longer just minor problems like toothache or bad breath. Nowadays people are consuming more spicy fast food, sweet snacks and processed foods, due to which problems like cavities, swollen gums, bleeding gums, loose teeth and persistent bad breath have increased. In India, where dental awareness is still limited in many areas, the problem is said to be even more serious. Patanjali claims that this is why there has been a resurgence of interest in the traditional methods of Ayurveda, which focus on prevention rather than just treatment.
What is Gandush Oil?
Gandush is one such method, which is also described in the texts of Ayurveda. In this, medicated oil has to be kept in the mouth for a few minutes every morning. It is said that Ayurvedic scholars recommended this method not only for cleaning the mouth, but also to strengthen teeth and gums, improve voice quality and aid digestion. According to the company’s explanation, the purpose of Gandush Oil is to keep the oil in the mouth long enough for it to have its effect on the oral tissues and microorganisms and then immediately spit it out without rinsing, so that its effect lasts longer.
prepared after years of refinement
Giving a modern twist to the traditional Gandush method, the company says that after long-term research, it has prepared a ready-to-use oil pulling mixture. According to the company, this product is made completely from natural oil and no harmful chemicals, alcohol or artificial additives have been used in it.
Of which ingredients is Gandush oil made?
Tumburu oil, clove oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil and basil leaves oil have been included in this special Ayurvedic oil mixture. The company claims that all these oils are beneficial in providing relief from various problems of mouth and teeth.
What are the properties of all these things?
According to Ayurveda, Tumburu oil strengthens teeth and gums. At the same time, clove oil has properties that reduce the swelling of gums, which can be helpful in providing relief from toothache. Antiviral and antifungal elements are present in peppermint oil, which help in reducing bad breath. At the same time, eucalyptus oil is helpful in reducing the bacteria present in the mouth, while basil oil prevents tooth decay due to its antibacterial properties.
Company scientists did research
According to research conducted by the scientists of Patanjali Ayurveda, the oil pulling formulation reduces the ability of bacteria and yeast infections in the mouth. Chemical analysis conducted using GC-MS/MS technology identified active compounds such as limonene, eucalyptol, linalool, menthol, estragole and eugenol. These compounds are beneficial for maintaining oral health. The company also claims that this oil has the ability to eliminate germs like Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus pyogenes, Proteus mirabilis and Candida albicans, which are commonly associated with cavities, infections and fungal infections in the mouth.
Also beneficial for people wearing braces
This product is also said to be useful for people wearing braces. According to the company, braces often promote the accumulation of plaque and biofilm on the teeth. The company claims that regular use of oil pulling mixture reduces such biofilms, which keeps teeth clean even during orthodontic treatment.
