Orange alert for 5 districts including Kottayam, Idukki – Read

Latest News :- Due to heavy rains in many parts of Kerala, roads have been flooded and traffic jams have occurred, affecting normal life. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for five districts of the state. Orange alert has been issued for five districts Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur. Similarly, yellow alert has been issued for 7 districts.

An orange warning indicates that heavy rainfall (6 to 20 cm) is possible. A yellow warning means heavy rainfall is likely in the area. Also, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds may occur at some places in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. Similarly, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain with gusty winds in parts of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
