Mumbai Mumbai. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Oscar nominations will be announced this week. The nominations were postponed several times due to the Los Angeles wildfires, but actor-writer-comedian Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang will make the announcement at a ceremony that will be broadcast live on multiple platforms.
As per IST, Oscar 2025 nominations will be announced on January 23 at 7 PM IST.

The announcement will be made Thursday in a live presentation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The two actor-writer-comedians will announce the nominees in all 24 Oscar categories. The announcement will be live-streamed globally on Oscars.com, Oscar.org and the Academy's digital platforms. It will also be broadcast on ABC's Good Morning America and streamed on ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.
Academy cancels Oscar nominees luncheon
The 97th Oscar nominations were originally scheduled to be announced on January 17, but were postponed to January 19 due to wildfires that broke out two weeks earlier, damaging countless buildings in Los Angeles and affecting many Oscar voters. As a result, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy extended the voting period and subsequent announcement by two days.
The fire continued to burn in Los Angeles, so the Academy once again adjusted the calendar, extending the voting period to January 17, moving the announcement date to January 23 and canceling the Oscar nominees luncheon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Conan O'Brien will host the 97th Oscar telecast, which will take place as scheduled on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre.
