Board Secretary Devjit Saikia has clearly indicated that a review meeting will be called as soon as the current England tour ends, in which the team’s continuously deteriorating T20 performance will be discussed and future strategy will be prepared.

The young Indian team playing under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer lost the series on its first tour to Ireland. After this, in England also the team could not perform as per expectations and lost another T20 series. The defeat on two consecutive foreign tours has increased the concern of BCCI.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, ‘The team is going through a bad phase at the moment. After the tour is over, we will definitely hold a review meeting, so that we can understand where the mistakes are happening and why the team is continuously struggling.

Gambhir-Shreyas will be questioned in the review meeting
According to the information, captain Shreyas Iyer and head coach Gautam Gambhir will also attend this review meeting. Every aspect of the team’s performance will be seen in the meeting. Special focus will be on team selection, strategy, performance in foreign conditions and ability to implement planning during the match. Along with this, a roadmap will also be prepared for the preparations for next year’s T20 World Cup.

However, after the change in captaincy this year, BCCI had expressed confidence in the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir.
