Kia Carens has completed four years in the Indian auto market. Launched in February 2022, the premium MPV has recorded domestic sales of 2,77,236 units till date, while over 30000 units have been exported. 27% share in Kia India’s total sales

Kia India has sold a total of 10,43,126 utility vehicles since February 2022. A whopping 27% of this is accounted for by Kia Carens alone. During this period, the company’s portfolio saw sales of 6,02,390 units of Kia Seltos, 5,05,246 units of Kia Sonet and 2,77,236 units of Kia Carens. However, in the first 10 months of FY2026, Carens has seen a huge jump in sales.

A whopping 24% growth in FY2026

Carens sold 66,454 units between April 2025 and January 2026, as against 53,779 units in the same period last year. That is, a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 24% has been recorded. Now the Carens is Kia’s second best selling car after the Sonet and has overtaken even the Seltos. According to the company’s estimates, the sales of Karens could touch 75,000 to 77,500 units in FY2026, which could be an all-time high.

Kia Carens Clavis and Kia Carens Clavis EV changed the game completely

Kia India launched the Carens Clavis in May 2025. This MPV was launched with a more premium design, advanced features and 6/7-seater options. Just two months later, the Carens Clavis EV, an electric version of the MPV, was introduced. Both these models have given the Kia Carens brand a new boost in sales.

Kia reported sales of a record 2,731 electric vehicles in 2025, representing a 558% year-over-year increase. The company’s EV market share has increased to 1.54%. The success of the Clavis EV has catapulted Kia to 7th place among 17 electric car manufacturers.
