Pakistan angry at Blessing Muzarabani for choosing IPL, considering legal action

Tezzbuzz Desk- Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has decided to play in the Indian Premier League instead of the Pakistan Super League, after which the Pakistan Cricket Board seems angry. According to reports, Pakistan Cricket Board is now considering the options of legal action against Muzarabani.

Actually, Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders had included Muzarabani in their team. After this, this Zimbabwean fast bowler informed Pakistan Super League franchise Islamabad United about his unavailability.

Muzarabani has previously played for Multan Sultans in PSL and has played an important role in helping the team win the title. However, he was not bought by any team in the PSL auction held on February 11. Later, Islamabad United signed Muzarabani in place of West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph.

But after signing the contract with KKR, Muzarabani preferred to play in IPL. PCB is considering this decision as a breach of contract and is exploring legal options on this.

This is the second consecutive year that a player has given priority to IPL over PSL. Last season, South African fast bowler Corbin Bosch had also done the same. He was selected by Peshawar Zalmi, but later joined IPL team Mumbai Indians.

Muzarabani had performed brilliantly in the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. He played an important role in taking Zimbabwe to the Super-8 by taking 13 wickets in the tournament. He also led the team to a memorable victory in the group stage by taking four wickets against Australia.

It is noteworthy that this time the schedules of IPL and PSL are clashing once again. The IPL is scheduled to start from March 28, while the PSL will be held from March 26 to May 3. In such a situation, many international players have to choose between the two leagues.
