Pakistan batsman equals Kohli, makes place in list of greats
Delhi: Pakistan's young opening batsman Sam Ayub has impressed everyone with his brilliant batting. These days his bat is scoring a lot of runs. Recently, he scored a century in the third ODI match against South Africa. In this match played in Johannesburg, Sam scored 101 runs in 94 balls, in which he hit 13 fours and 2 sixes. This was the third century of his ODI career, and even before this he had scored a century in the first match. 22 year old Sam has scored three centuries on foreign grounds in 2024, due to which he has equaled the record of Virat Kohli.

Sam Ayub equaled Virat
Sam Ayub has equaled Virat Kohli in the list of Asian batsmen who have scored most ODI centuries on foreign soil in a year. Kohli had scored three centuries abroad in 2018 and 2019. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Hafeez and Salim Elahi have also scored three centuries in a year. However, the record for scoring most centuries in a year among Asian batsmen is in the name of Rohit Sharma, who scored 6 centuries in 2019.
Scored 2 centuries against South Africa
Along with scoring two centuries in the ODI series, Sam Ayub has made another special record in his name. Now he has become a part of Virat Kohli's special club. Sam has become the second batsman to score two centuries in the ODI series against South Africa. Virat Kohli and Kevin Pietersen are at number one in this list.

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who scored 52 runs in the third ODI, missed an important record. Babar has so far scored 5957 runs in 120 ODI innings and he is just 43 runs away from scoring 6000 runs in the fewest innings in ODI cricket. In this match, Pakistan team won by scoring 308/9, in which Mohammad Rizwan also scored a half-century by scoring 53 runs.
