Pakistan becomes the first team to clean sweep in South Africa

Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy is working for Pakistan in One Day International cricket. After losing the first match against Australia, Pakistan has done the work of winning the series 2-1 and repeating the same against Zimbabwe and now defeating South Africa in South Africa. Not only this, Pakistan is the first country in the world to clean sweep the ODI series against South Africa on its own soil. Till now no other team has been able to do this, but Pakistan made this record on the night of 22 December.

The last One Day International match between South Africa and Pakistan was played in Johannesburg. The South African team, captained by Temba Bavuma, won the toss and chose to bowl. Batting first, Pakistan team scored 308 runs losing 9 wickets in 47 overs. For Pakistan, Sam Ayub scored a century, while Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scored half-centuries. Salman Ali Aga played an inning of 48 runs. Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets for South Africa. However, this match was shortened due to rain.

Due to DLS, the South African team got the target of 308 runs in 47 overs, but the team collapsed after scoring 271 runs in 42 overs and lost the match by a margin of 36 runs. In this way, Pakistan won all three matches and wiped out the hosts in this series. Till now no other team has been able to clean sweep South Africa in the ODI series in South Africa, but now it has happened. Sufiyan Muqeem took 4 wickets for Pakistan, while Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah got 2 wickets each. Heinrich Klaasen played an inning of 81 runs for South Africa. Corbin Bose scored 40 runs.
