Pakistan's Defense Minister gave a big statement regarding Imran Khan, said this regarding his release

Islamabad: Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday completely rejected those reports in the media. The government had made no offer to shift former Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail to his Banigala residence or put him under house arrest.

Speaking at an event in Sialkot, about 240 km south-east of Islamabad, Asif said no such proposal had been made. Nor is there any pressure for his release.

The Defense Minister's statement comes in the wake of Imran's sister Aleema Khan's claim that her brother and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan (PTI) was offered to be shifted from Adiala jail to his residence in Banigala.

Imran is imprisoned in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail since mid-2023 in connection with several cases. In some of these cases, he has been convicted, while some cases are pending.

Asif said the issue of Imran's detention pertains to the judiciary and only the courts concerned can decide on his release or detention. He said that these claims are completely baseless and part of PTI's efforts to mislead the public.

The Defense Minister also accused PTI of fabricating stories to gain political mileage. He said that the future of Imran Khan will be decided by the court, not the government. I am not associated with the judiciary and I am certainly not a soothsayer to predict court decisions. (with agency input)
