Pakistan’s big decision: Airspace will remain closed for Indian aircraft till April 24, restrictions increased

India Pakistan Airspace Tension 2026: Pakistan is still in panic due to the retaliatory action taken by India after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. In view of the seriousness of India-Pakistan airspace tension, Pakistan has extended the restrictions on airspace for one month. According to sources, Pakistan fears that India may again carry out a major military operation. This situation clearly reflects the increasing diplomatic and military tensions between the two countries.

airspace restrictions

Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) recently issued a new ‘Notice to Airmen’ This information has been issued by issuing (Notam). According to this new order, Pakistan’s airspace will now remain completely closed for Indian aircraft till April 24. This ban on entry of Indian airlines and all aircraft registered in India has been in force for the last one year.

fear of pahalgam attack

This whole controversy started after the Pahalgam attack on April 22 in which terrorists had killed many innocent tourists. From the very next day of that attack i.e. 23 April 2025, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian flights out of fear. Pakistan feared that India would definitely respond to this cowardly attack by entering inside its border.

Indus water agreement canceled

Immediately after the terrorist attack, India took a tough stand and decided to completely cancel the Indus Water Agreement. After this big decision, there was a huge water crisis in Pakistan and it started craving every drop of water. This strict action of India proved to be a big and deep blow for Pakistan which was struggling with financial crisis.

Panic of Operation Sindoor

In early May, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ A very successful and accurate military air strike was carried out on Pakistan. In this operation that lasted for four days, 9 terrorist camps of Jaish and Lashkar located in Pakistan and PoK were completely destroyed. In this attack, more than 100 dreaded terrorists including a close relative of Masood Azhar were killed.

attack on terrorist targets

The main goal of Operation Sindoor was to root out the training camps and other terrorist hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed based in Bahawalpur. This tremendous action by India exposed Pakistan’s defense system and made it worried about its security. From then till today, Pakistan has been repeatedly closing the airspace due to the fear of any new retaliatory action by India.

series of historical scares

This is not the first time that Pakistan has taken such a step out of fear of India and sealed its borders. Even after the Kargil war and Pulwama terrorist attack, Pakistan had closed its path to Indian aircraft for several days. This policy of Pakistan shows how much it is afraid of the power of the Indian Army and its aggressive strategy.
