Actually, Pakistan has filed a complaint with match referee Niyamura Rashid after a controversial DRS in the last over of the third ODI against Bangladesh. The case was related to on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena’s decision to allow Bangladesh a review on the penultimate ball; It seemed that the rules laid down in this decision were ignored.
A source told Cricbuzz, “Pakistan team management believes that Bangladesh took the review after watching the replay of the ball on the big screen. That is why after the end of the match, they went to the referee and informed him about this. Pakistan felt that Bangladesh was given more than the stipulated time of 15 seconds to take the review, whereas this decision should have been taken within the stipulated time limit.”
According to the website, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson met Rashid after the end of the match and formally lodged his complaint. However, it is not clear what is the purpose of this complaint of PCB? Sources say that the match referee met Hesson and tried to explain the entire situation to him in detail. He also said that the host team (Bangladesh) did not take any unfair advantage of any kind.
The incident occurred when Pakistan needed 12 runs from the last two balls to win. Rishad Hussain bowled a ball down the leg-side, on which captain Shaheen Afridi was on strike. Umpire Dharamsena declared this ball ‘wide’. However, the decision of ‘wide’ cannot be reviewed directly, but Bangladesh appealed for LBW, after which the decision had to be sent to the ‘third umpire’.

Replays showed a spike in the ‘Ultra-Edge’ as the ball passed the bat. On this basis the decision of ‘Wide’ was changed. Even though Bangladesh lost this review, this decision almost ensured victory in the match for them. It is also worth noting here that no ‘timer’ was shown on the screen during the TV broadcast.
