Begging bowl and royal chic! 7 crore Pakistanis are poor, yet Maryam Nawaz bought a plane worth 1170 crores

Pakistan Financial Situation News: Pakistan, which pursues anti-India politics and fundamentalist agenda, is now finding it difficult to survive. The country’s economy is completely on ventilator and this has been revealed by Pakistan’s Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal himself.

According to the data, poverty in Pakistan has broken the record of the last 11 years, while the income inequality between the rich and the poor has reached the highest level in 27 years. In this country, which is breathing on the loan received from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), now about 7 crore people are trapped in the quagmire of poverty.

Scene of devastation in figures

Pakistan’s poverty rate has increased to 28.9% in the financial year 2024-25, which was 21.9% just 5 years ago. Unemployment has also touched the figure of 7.1%, breaking the 21-year record. The situation is even worse in rural areas, where poverty has reached 36.2%. The worst situation is in violence-affected Balochistan, where about 47% of the population is struggling to earn two meals a day. Due to the strict conditions of IMF, the government has had to end subsidies, due to which inflation has broken the back of the common man.

Public is distressed, Maryam Nawaz ‘royal’ in chic

On one hand, the country is in need of every little thing, on the other hand, the luxury of the rulers in power has shocked the whole world. Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab province, has purchased a luxurious aircraft worth Rs 380 crore (Indian currency) for her use. This new Gulfstream GVII G500 aircraft is a 19-seater, which costs about Rs 1,170 crore in Pakistani currency.

How much debt does Pakistan have?

At present the total debt of Pakistan has exceeded 70% of its GDP. In such a situation, the purchase of an aircraft worth crores by a Chief Minister is not only morally wrong, but it also reflects the administrative failure of Pakistan where foreign aid is being used for personal comforts instead of public welfare. Imran Khan’s party PTI called it ‘robbery of people’s hard-earned money’. Have agreed.

humanitarian crisis also

This crisis for Pakistan is not only economic but also human. When a country’s government spends money on royal planes instead of investing in infrastructure and employment, it is bound to lead to civil war and anarchy.
