Pakistan in the energy crisis in Hormuz! Online classes from work from home, ‘Corona-smriti’ is returning
Iran has closed the ‘oil artery’ Strait of Hormuz due to the war. As a result of this energy crisis in Pakistan! It is known that Shahbaz Sharif’s government is going to take strict measures to save energy. Soon most government and private office workers in Pakistan may be ordered to work from home. Also, schools-colleges may start offering online tuition. Karno-Smriti is virtually returning across Pakistan.
Debt-ridden Islamabad’s back is already broken. But this time due to the energy crisis in the country, the economic condition of Pakistan may worsen, according to experts. It is feared that Hormuz may be closed for a long time due to Iran war. Pakistan imports a large amount of oil through this route. As a result, if Hormuz is closed for a long time, Pakistan’s energy supply will suffer a big blow. Therefore, the government of Pakistan is taking precautionary measures in advance.
According to a report by Pakistani media ‘Dawn’, the same measures that were taken around the world during the Covid, are currently being rolled back in Pakistan to save energy. The report also said that from next month, all but a certain number of employees in government and private offices in Pakistan may be ordered to work from home. However, IT companies in the country may be advised to work online at least two days a week.
Pakistan’s Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb said that currently Pakistan has about 25 days of petrol-diesel reserves, 10 days of crude oil reserves and 15 days of LPG reserves. So in this situation the government is cautious in using fuel.
