Pakistan Medical Negligence Viral Video: A new incident that has put the medical sector to shame has come to light from neighboring country Pakistan. This time the matter is not about terrorism or violence, but about irresponsible action in an Operation Theater (OT). In a famous hospital in Lahore, doctors and medical staff turned the operation theater into a ‘playground’, risking the lives of patients. In the video going viral on social media, it can be seen that doctors and staff are having ‘surgery competition’ among themselves, seeing which people have got angry on social media.

‘C-Section’ competition in operation theater

According to media reports, this shocking case is from Lady Willingdon Hospital in Lahore. It can be clearly seen in the video that two different teams are performing cesarean (C-Section) operation on two pregnant women. But the most shocking thing is that instead of protecting the patient, the doctors are busy in deciding who completes the surgery first. In the background, some people are seen telling him ‘hurry up, hurry up’ and also laughing.

flouting safety rules

This incident not only endangered the lives of the patients but also violated medical ethics and patient privacy. Making videos is strictly prohibited in the operation theatre, but here not only was the video made but it was also shared on social media for ‘fun’. Social media users described it as ‘ignorance’ and said that if this incident had happened in any other country, the licenses of the doctors concerned would have been immediately cancelled.

Anger erupted on social media

After the video went viral, people demanded strict action against the culprits and their immediate suspension. One user wrote, ‘What is the use of the education of these doctors when they do not know the value of a human life.’ Another user also demanded to identify the team that recorded the video and punish them. People said that the health system in Pakistan is already weak and such incidents make it worse.

Hospital administration started investigation

As the matter escalated, Dr. Farah, Medical Superintendent of Lady Willingdon Hospital, said that a high-level committee has been formed to investigate the incident. The committee will find out who made the video, how it was leaked and which doctors were involved in the competition. The hospital administration has assured that based on the investigation report, strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
