Pakistan: Major attack by TTP in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 16 soldiers killed

According to reports, the attacker in the vehicle rammed the explosives-laden vehicle into the Frontier Corps post located near the madrasa, causing a massive explosion that completely destroyed the building and also damaged nearby houses and shops. Eyewitnesses said that immediately after the blast, thick smoke started rising into the sky and sounds of gunshots were heard, causing chaos. This indicated that the terrorists had attempted a coordinated attack.
According to reports, terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack and fired six Al-Farooq missiles at around 10:30 pm. Security officials said that nine security personnel were martyred on the spot, while several others were injured. Civilians were also among the dead, bringing the total number of deaths to at least 16, with fears that the number could rise further as rescue teams try to clear the debris.
