Pakistan minister criticized Imran Khan's party, said- Government is finding the middle way
Islamabad: Pakistan Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has criticized the decision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to end the talks with the government. According to The Express Tribune, he said that the government is offering to form a committee instead of the Judicial Commission, which is a step towards adopting the “middle route”.
In his comment on a private news channel, Tarar said, “It is not necessary to set up a commission. We were discussing the middle route to pursue things. ” He accused the party established by Imran Khan of working with “malicious intentions” and “hasty decisions”.
Damaged
He said that our answer was necessary on the demands of PTI. The matter was “detailed discussion”. Criticizing PTI, he said, “He should have found a concrete reason to prove that he was damaged.” Now this is their responsibility. “
Judicial Commission formed
His comment came after the cancellation of negotiations with PTI founder Imran Khan with the government led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), as the government failure to form a judicial commission within a time period of seven days promised by the government Has shown.
Talking to reporters outside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, PTI President Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan announced that the decision was taken after Imran Khan expressed disappointment over the government's inaction.
Gauhar said, “The founder of PTI has clearly announced that there will be no further talks.” He said, the government had made announcements but they have not been followed yet, which is why Imran Khan decided to end the talks. ”
Action on PTI supporters rally
According to the report by The Express Tribune, negotiations started with the aim of reducing political tension between PTI and PML-N government in December and so far three rounds have been held. The party, established by Imran Khan, has demanded the formation of two judicial commissions – one to investigate the riots of May 9, 2023 and the other to investigate action on the rally of PTI supporters in Islamabad on 26 November 2024. PTI has also demanded the release of “political prisoners”.
Six opposition representatives participated
According to Dawn's report, on 16 January, PTI formally handed over its 'demands' to the government in a third round of talks between the two sides. The meeting was held under the supervision of the National Assembly Speaker and attended by six opposition representatives, including three PTI leaders and eight government leaders.
