Pakistan Spinner Usman Tariq Warns India Ahead of T20 WC

Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq has warned Team India about their upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 match on Sunday which will take place at a crucial moment in the tournament. Tariq, 30, made his tournament debut on Tuesday against the USA, registering match figures of 3/27 as Pakistan won the game by 32 runs to go top of Group A. The people at the Colombo match raised doubts about his bowling act because they described his style as ‘chucking’ which he used to throw the ball.

Tariq made a direct response to his critics during the media session which followed the match by stating that Indian batters would face “extra pressure” because of the current assessment of their performance.

Tariq said that Indian players will experience increased stress because of their present media coverage. The Way the process exists, people control pressure beyond their understanding of the process. I stay focused on my cricket and practice without understanding what the media is reporting.

The 30-year-old player who will face India maintains that the upcoming match will not change his approach.

Tariq said that recordkeeping should begin from the point where our team first started its losing streak. The starting point of our team shows our good record which has existed since the start of the season. The entire team should include this period of time because it consists of championship contests. The upcoming match is our main focus because all of us will approach each game with maximum effort. The World Cup will become a special event for everyone when we achieve this victory. The match against India serves as normal competition for me and my team. The best approach to handle increasing excitement, which affects your thoughts, is to maintain simplicity and implement your established strategies.

Tariq has made an incredible start to his T20I career. He also impressed in Pakistan’s recent three-match series against Australia, which they won 3-0.

The 30-year-old bowler has taken 11 wickets across four matches while maintaining an exceptional average of 7.90 and an economy rate that falls below one run per ball.
