A total of 12 teams will participate in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028.
Like the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, a total of 12 teams will participate in 2028 also. The top-8 teams of T20 World Cup 2026 will directly qualify for the tournament. Pakistan, being the host, will qualify. Apart from this, the next best two teams in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings till July 6, 2026 will directly qualify for the tournament. The remaining 2 teams will be decided through the qualification tournament.
A global qualifier will be held between 10 teams from different regions for the last 2 spots for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028. Teams for the Global Qualifier will be selected through regional qualifiers. The allocation of these teams will be confirmed in the ICC meeting to be held in July.
