ICC’s big announcement, Pakistan again given hosting of the World Cup, know where India will play its match

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made a big announcement on Monday, June 1. In fact, ICC has confirmed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028. An important ICC meeting was held in Ahmedabad during the final of IPL 2026, in which many decisions were taken. The Indian team will not tour Pakistan for this tournament, this has also been approved by ICC.

Now that Pakistan has got the hosting rights of Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, cricket fans must be wondering whether this time the Indian team will have to tour Pakistan, then let us tell you that it will not happen. It happened as expected. The Indian women’s cricket team will play its match in the T20 World Cup 2028 at a neutral venue. India vs Pakistan match will also be played on neutral venue. ICC has given permission for this. Pakistan Cricket Board and BCCI had already agreed to conduct ICC events at neutral venues.

Team India played on neutral venue

Pakistan Cricket Board will host most of the matches of the Women’s T20 World Cup, but the Indian team will play its matches elsewhere. If reports are to be believed, Team India can play its match in Dubai. However, till now no official information has been revealed by ICC regarding neutral venue. The ICC said in a press release, “India’s matches in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, organized by the PCB, will be played at neutral venues.”

A total of 12 teams will participate in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028.

Like the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, a total of 12 teams will participate in 2028 also. The top-8 teams of T20 World Cup 2026 will directly qualify for the tournament. Pakistan, being the host, will qualify. Apart from this, the next best two teams in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings till July 6, 2026 will directly qualify for the tournament. The remaining 2 teams will be decided through the qualification tournament.

A global qualifier will be held between 10 teams from different regions for the last 2 spots for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2028. Teams for the Global Qualifier will be selected through regional qualifiers. The allocation of these teams will be confirmed in the ICC meeting to be held in July.
