Pakistani drone entered LoC in Poonch, army responded by firing
Suspicious activity has once again come to light from Pakistan near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. On Sunday, Indian Army soldiers deployed in Digwar sector took immediate action after seeing the infiltration of Pakistani drones. The drone was seen entering Indian territory at around 6.10 in the morning, at which the Army fired more than a dozen rounds and forced it to run back.
According to military sources, the drone escaped the firing, but after hovering in the sky for some time, it returned towards Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This incident is the second time within three days, when drone activity was seen on the LoC and the Indian Army had to take strict action. Security experts are considering this as a serious attempt to use weapons, drugs or espionage.
Description of retaliatory firing on drones
On Sunday morning, soldiers deployed in Digwar area noticed the movement of a suspicious drone. As soon as the drone entered the Indian border, the army immediately started retaliating. After firing about a dozen rounds, the drone was forced to return. Although the drone could not be destroyed, it fled towards Pakistani territory.
Second incident in three days
This incident is the second time after drone intrusion in the same sector on February 27. That day also the army had fired on a suspected drone. Two consecutive incidents have become a matter of concern for the security forces, because it clearly indicates that Pakistan is continuing nefarious activities through drones from across the border.
Possible purposes and dangers of drones
Security agencies believe that such drones are often used to carry weapons, narcotics, explosives or espionage equipment. For this reason, an intensive search operation has been started in the entire area immediately after the incident. Security forces want to ensure that no material is dropped on the ground by the drone.
Alert in entire Poonch sector
After the incident, vigil has been increased in Poonch sector. Monitoring and patrolling on the border has been made more strict. The Indian Army and other security forces are monitoring the situation with full vigilance so that any untoward incident can be prevented.
