Pakistani player badly injured while fielding, had to be taken to hospital

The second match of the 3-match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was played on Friday (March 13) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. In this match, Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat injured his shoulder. Hussain Talat suffered this injury while fielding. While trying to stop the four, he collided with the advertisement board near the boundary line, due to which his left shoulder was badly injured. He was taken out of the field on a stretcher and immediately taken to the hospital.

PCB issued statement

Pakistan had scored 274 runs when invited to bat first. Bangladeshi team’s wicketkeeper batsman Liton Das, who came to chase the target, punched the ball of Mohammad Wasim Junior in the off side in the sixth over. Hussain Talat ran towards the cover boundary to stop the four. When the ball reached near the boundary, he tried to pull it back to the field but as soon as he touched the ball, his foot fell on the foam. After this he collided with advertisement hoardings and his left shoulder got injured. The people standing there quickly ran towards Hussain Talat. He was then placed on a stretcher and taken to an ambulance.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement on Hussain Talat’s injury and said, ‘Talat was given medical aid by the team’s medical staff on the field itself. After initial investigation, he has been taken to the hospital for detailed examination. The seriousness of the injury will be known only after seeing the doctors.

Pakistan won the match

The match had to be stopped due to rain after one over due to Hussain Talat’s injury. At this time Bangladesh’s score was 27/3 in 6.3 overs. When the weather cleared, Bangladesh got a revised target of 243 runs in 32 overs, in response to which it was reduced to 114 runs. Pakistan won by 128 runs via DLS method and achieved a 1-1 draw in the series. Maaz Sadaqat and Haris Rauf took 3-3 wickets for Pakistan team. Before performing wonders with the ball, Maaz Sadaqat had scored 75 runs in 46 balls. He was awarded the Player of the Match award.
