Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan breaks Virat Kohli’s record

2026 T20 World Cup might have brought some lows for Pakistan cricket team but there is one achivement the nation can celebrate.

Pakistan’s opening batter Sahibzada Farhan has beat Indian batter Virat Kohli’s long-held record of scoring most runs in a single edition of T20 World Cup.

In a decisive match played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which would determine the semi-fianlists from the group, Farhan’s explosve start secured his team a promising start.

Ahead of the match, Farhan needed 36 runs to beat Kohli’s 319 runs in the 2014 T20 World Cup.

Very quickly, Farhan paced through the runs and accumulated the required runs unbeaten, achieving a massive milestone by breaking a decade long record.

He is also one of the very few players who have scored four T20 centuries in one calender year.

Throughout the tournament, he has proven to be vital for Pakistan and has proven his mettle consistently. Arguably, he is also a strong contender for the Player of the Tournament award.
