Pakistan cricket team got a big shock

New Delhi: Before the T20 World Cup next year, the Pakistan cricket team is facing a serious problem. Their main fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been injured, due to which their game in the World Cup is under threat. Shaheen was currently playing in the Big Bash League in Australia, but due to injury he had to leave the competition midway.

Injured while fielding in Big Bash League

Shaheen Afridi was playing in the Big Bash League for Brisbane Heat. He got injured while he was fielding. The Pakistan Cricket Board has immediately called him to its High Performance Center in Lahore, where he will be given proper treatment and examination.

PCB official’s reaction

Giving information, a PCB official said that after discussion with Cricket Australia, the decision to recall Shaheen was taken. As per initial reports, he needs complete rest and will take some time to recover. Examination by the board doctors is necessary to properly assess the severity of his injury.

Brisbane playing experience

In a statement issued by Brisbane Heat, Shaheen said that playing in Brisbane has been a wonderful experience for him. He expressed regret that he would not be able to complete the season. He also said that he is hoping to recover soon and return to the field again.

Team announcement pending for T-20 World Cup

Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet announced its team for the T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka in February-March. At the beginning of the new year, Pakistan has to play a three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, in which Shaheen Afridi was not selected as he was busy in the Big Bash League at that time.

Pakistan’s concerns increased

Apart from Shaheen, several other prominent players of Pakistan are also participating in the Big Bash League, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, and Haris Rauf. But Shaheen’s injury has further increased the team’s worries.
