New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team achieved a historic milestone in the third ODI against Ireland, securing an overwhelming 304-run victory to complete a 3-0 series sweep. This dominant win marked India’s largest-ever margin in an ODI, surpassing their previous record of 249 runs set against Ireland in Potchefstroom eight years ago. Remarkably, all eight women’s ODIs with a margin of over 300 runs have come against Ireland.
Outstanding Batting Performance
India’s opening pair, Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana, displayed exceptional batting prowess, forging a remarkable 233-run partnership. Pratika Rawal scored a brilliant 154 runs off 129 balls, including 20 fours and a six, marking her maiden ODI century. Smriti Mandhana was equally explosive, smashing 135 runs off 80 balls, featuring seven powerful sixes. Richa Ghosh’s rapid 59 further strengthened India’s total, pushing them to an imposing 435/5.
Ireland Struggles Against India’s Bowling Attack
In response, Ireland’s batting line-up failed to cope with India’s dominant bowling performance, collapsing for just 131 runs. Deepti Sharma was the standout bowler, taking three wickets, while Tanuja Kanwar claimed two. Titas Sadhu, Sayali Satghare, and Minu Manni each contributed with a wicket, ensuring a thorough and convincing victory.
Pratika Rawal Shines as Top Scorer
Pratika Rawal emerged as the highest run-scorer of the series, amassing a total of 310 runs, with Smriti Mandhana following closely behind with 249 runs. Deepti Sharma excelled with the ball, claiming seven wickets throughout the series, proving to be a key figure in India’s comprehensive win.
