Ingredients to make Restaurant Style Paneer
In restaurant style at home, things required are cheese cubes, grated tomatoes, curd, gram flour, finely chopped onion, garlic, green chillies, green coriander, dried red chillies, turmeric, Kashmiri red chillies, cumin powder, garam masala, ghee, whole cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon, green cardamom, chopped ginger, cloves, black pepper, coriander seeds, Kasuri fenugreek, oil and salt etc.
How to make restaurant style paneer in 4 steps
step 1- To make restaurant style paneer at home, first cut the paneer into equal square shapes. Now take a bowl and add paneer pieces in it, add 2 pinches of turmeric, garam masala, red chilli powder and a little salt, mix and let the paneer pieces marinate. Now add 2 spoons of desi ghee in the pan and heat it. When the ghee melts, add marinated paneer pieces to it and fry while stirring for 2 minutes. After this take them out.
Step 2- Now take another pan and add 2 spoons of oil and 1 spoon of ghee in it and heat it. After some time, add cumin, cinnamon, ground cardamom and other whole spices and fry. When the aroma starts coming from the spices, add finely chopped onion and fry while stirring until the onion becomes soft and turns light golden. After this, add ginger pieces and cloves in the pan and fry.
Step 3- After frying the mixture for some time, add 2 tablespoons gram flour and all the other spices and mix. After frying on low flame for some time, add grated tomatoes and salt as per taste in the pan. Now cover the pan and cook the gravy until the oil starts leaving. Meanwhile, add 3-4 tablespoons of water to the gravy and cook. While cooking on low flame, add curd to the gravy, mix and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4- When the gravy starts boiling, add garam masala and Kasuri methi in it. You can cook the gravy by adding more water as per requirement. Finally, add fried paneer pieces to the gravy and add finely chopped coriander and turn off the gas. Let the paneer marinate with gravy for some time, then serve hot with roti, paratha or naan.
